NEW LAY CLERCS AND CHORAL SCHOLARS JOIN THE CHOIR AT ST OSMUND'S
On Sunday 24th November, the Solemnity of Christ the King, Father Grieves Parish Priest of St Osmund’s Catholic Church, Gainford, celebrated the rite of admission of three new Lay Clerks, six new Choral Scholars and a Junior Choral Scholar to the choir at the 11.30 am Solemn Mass, where the choir performed the St Nicholas Mass and a Te Deum by Joseph Haydn. The Mass was followed by a celebratory lunch in Gainford Village Hall and Solemn Evensong at Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 4.00 pm. Lay Clerks: Paul Banks, Ellen Garbutt and Nathan Barker, Choral Scholars: Samantha Hutchinson, Bethan Snowden, Hannah Ambrose, Adam Piplica, Hector Halford-MacLeod and William Fellows. Junior Choral Scholar: Eva Ferguson. The new Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars are pictured with existing Choral Scholar Moya Morrison, their Conductor and Director of Music, Miss Nicola Reeves and Father Grieves. The choir seeks to perform Church Music to a high standard every Sunday at 11.30 am at St Osmund’s Church in Gainford, and all are welcome.
